Title: Truancy
Author: Snap
Rating: PG-13
Season: 4
Synopsis: The five days Lois bothered to attend her classes at Smallville High were some of the most stressful of Clark’s life, even if he wasn’t ready to admit WHY.

Author's Note: (Cross-posting this here for the folks who don't want to bother with DI.) Sooooo, I'm finally getting my rear in gear and posting this bit of goofy season 4 fic-ery. Hopefully having the prologue posted will shame me into writing chronologically, therefore finishing chapter 1! The more comments I get, I figure the greater my shame will be, until I either finish the fic or quit the internet entirely and become a self-loathing Luddite hermit.

All grammar and spelling snafus are of my own making. No beta to be seen.

I feel like lj is really a more appropriate place for meta than tumblr, so I'm going to repost what I said earlier here.

Well, I was just idly looking over some unfinished fics and found this drabble tucked away. I'd completely forgotten about it, and since we were JUST talking about fic on twitter anyhow, figured I should post it. I think it was borne of that post a long while back where people posted prompts and answers to the prompts in the comments, because the only thing written above it was "Eleven/Amy, nursery rhymes." it's nothing special. :|

ugh my internet is out. how horrid. How am I to let everyone know that lol Darcy is the most awkward dinosaur? (You can't get rid of me that easily charter internet service, I have the internet on my phone.)

It's odd to me how it seems everyone just associates the BBC Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth when it is TOTALLY Jennifer Ehle's nuanced preformance that MAKES it work. like, he's a perfect Darcy, but she is an even more perfect Elizabeth. ugh, Kiera Knightly looks even more terrible in comparison which is impressive because knightly was SUCH a terrible Lizzy.

Scotch and a hot bath and BBC's Pride and Prejudice are magical. Yaaaaay, my foul mood has finally lifted. Self medicating with alcohol and period drama totally works! :D

Ugh, you guys, it hurts me on SO MANY LEVELS that DC decided to axe that Lois Lane: Girl Reporter proposal. WE NEED kids reading comics, we need GIRLS reading comics, the industry is dying, and this would have been a fantastic gateway book.

DC MARKETING, WHY ARE YOU SO FREAKING STUPID, WHY WON'T YOU TRY TO EXPAND YOUR MARKET, YOUR INDUSTRY IS DYING, DAMMIT.

Also. Lois Lane. Lois Lane as the star of a book series. Lois Lane being amazing. WHY AM I DENIED THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

I'm cranky as hell today and thinking about the colossal missed opportunity here is making me more cranky.

I'm pulling quotes from Arthur C. Danto to use in my thesis, and I'm getting super sick of Danto referencing Hegel every other line. My brain has decided to cope with this by saying "If you love Hegel so much, why don't you marry him?" every time it comes up. I can't make it stop; it's lodged in my brain better than any song. My brain is clearly 6 years old.

Also the editor of this book has last name of Lang, so every time I cite it I get distracted thinking about Smallville. I have such problems, you guys.

...we now have a release date for the season 10 boxset and the wrap party is THIS SATURDAY. The end is so near. Hold me as I weep, internet. I'm having so much trouble fathoming a world without Durance's Lois and Welling's Clark. *weeps forever*

I think I'm going to take a break from browsing tags on tumblr for awhile. The Superman/Batman porn that's popping up in the Superman tag is...upsetting for me.
